The beloved maestros of melody and groove return to Polymath for a 2 track instalment. The title track balances call and response between sounds brilliantly. Catchy synth ideas effortlessly navigate the bassline and coalesce to create a warm, hearty musical soup, let’s say. Breakbeat infused and full of aural easter eggs, Idyllic Metropolis is primed for the listener as much as the dance floor.

Supporting track ‘Dusk’ includes a signature four to floor beat, sparse bass ideas, and Rhodes improvisations throughout. The term after-hours comes to mind, which requires an apology first of all. Chorus tinged pads enter around half-way, adding further emotion to an already sentimental feel. Hats off to the duo for continuing on with consistency and quality.
